Michelin
Selection
An extraordinary achievement of the Koper restaurant Kogo and its chef Tilen Župevec, as well as for the Primorska region in general, is today’s recognition, which the restaurant received at the Michelin Guide Slovenia 2023 award.
Restaurant Kogo has thus become one of only a few recipients of the Michelin selection award, which means a guarantee for culinary specialties, carefully prepared and a good meal.
“Inclusion in the Michelin guide is an extremely important recognition for our restaurant Kogo. By renovating the restaurant, we also changed its previous concept, which is now based on combining Istrian ingredients and passing on the tradition of this area in a modern way, turned out to be the right decision. I am proud that from today Kogo is an even bigger messenger and promoter of the area in which we live. Kudos to co-founders Marko and Aljoša and the entire team of the Kogo restaurant,” said the director of Vinakoper, Borut Fakin.
The Michelin selection 2023, an award from one of the world’s most recognizable culinary guides, the Michelin Guide, is a great recognition and confirmation that Kog is bringing something truly exceptional to the coastal and Slovenian gastronomy.
“We create Istrian cuisine in a modern way; we combine homeliness, old Istrian recipes with new approaches. Our dishes also have a touch of Italy and its gastronomic tradition, which is not surprising given that we are on the border. You can also feel the local, high-quality specialties offered by Istria and wider Slovenia, so I can say that on our plates – and next to them – you can really find the heart of Istria,” said the chef of the Kogo restaurant, Tilen Župevec.
